Here we are in Athens trying to pull an all nighter before we head out tomorrow. The transport picks us up at 0345. All packed and ready to go. Today was a long travel day from north to south with only one quick stop in Berea. Our flight leaves at 6:20 local time and because of time change we land in Vancouver at around 1115. It’s gonna be a long day. Hoping to sleep on the plane.

Phillipi

Today we started at the baptismal spot where Lydia was baptized. Then we had another hour at Phillipi- which was not enough time. It’s been a lot of bus time again today. Last tours were today. Tomorrow we head back to Athens after a long day of driving. Then we wait for our early morning transport to the airport and we’re on our way home! I’m not even going to try photos this time.

Weekend in Greece and Turkey

We got on a 3 day cruise on Friday. No WiFi therefore no posts… today we have wifi in our bus. I’ll see how many pictures the blog will let me post. We are on a travel day to the north part of Greece. Near Thessaloniki. On Friday night we were in Mykonos. Saturday morning was Turkey- the House of Mary and Ephesus. Saturday evening was a visit to the Isle of Patmos. On Sunday we started in Crete. The Palace of Knossos, then some landmarks in the main town—where I sprained my ankle—I initially I was sure I had broken it. It’s very swollen and bruised. I met a couple from Colorado at lunch on the cruise, they gave me a splint. In the evening we were in Santorini!! Such beautiful spots!!

Ancient Corinth and the Parthenon.

Today was a long day. So over tired I slept a full 8 hours, but was awake at 5 am. First stop was Ancient Corinth, so many interesting historical details and information. Then we went on a tour to the Parthenon. Amazing structures. So ancient. I’ll try to attach a few photos and that’s it. May not have any internet the next few days..will see…

Tomorrow we fly out. All seems on track. I’ve checked us in and basically packed. Just have choir practice tonight then a likely short sleep and off to the airport. If anyone wants to track our flights I’ll attach a picture of them.

3 days to go and today we find out the air traffic controller strike has been averted by the new French government administration! What an answer to prayer!! Now just to finish packing and preparing!  I’ve been having work done in my place and a lot of that is completed now too. I’ll attach a few pictures (mostly for practice with this blogging thing)  if anyone is interested.

Less than a week to go.

Stress!! There are issues with the air traffic controllers in France on the days where we transfer flights. Hoping for a stress free trip as we fly out next Tuesday October 7. I will be happy when we have landed in Athens!
